Writers & Co. founder Avi Fertig is a marketing communications professional with fifteen years of experience in copywriting, communications strategy, and public relations for corporate and nonprofit clientele. 

Avi's career in marketing communications began in 1994 as a copywriter at Ideas, Inc., a boutique marketing agency on Madison Avenue in New York City.

In 1996, Avi joined the Royal Wine Corporation as its Director of Communications, representing a portfolio of select California, French, Italian, Israeli, and South American wineries including Baron Herzog, Herzog Selections, Kedem, Alfasi, Rashi, Weinstock, the Golan Heights Winery, and its four subsidiary premium food companies.

He joined Barrie House Coffee & Tea in 1999 as the Marketing Director for the East Coast's largest premium coffee roaster, before establishing Writers & Co. in May 2000.

A graduate of Brooklyn College, Avi attended the NYU School of Continuing Education, and the School of Visual Arts, where he studied with direct mail legend, Lois Geller, and award-winning copywriter, Sal DeVito, respectively.
